Over the Wilderness

After three nights camping out, we were ready for civilization! Another night of sleeping in the cold just wasn't appealing, so we left Bryce Canyon a night early and drove to Las Vegas. I found a hotel for that night in Henderson, a few miles outside of Las Vegas. Steven drove the 5 hours late Saturday night. It was neat to make the drive in the dark because when we got within 12 miles of the city, it was amazing to see the incredible bright lights that stretched for miles!
We also saw 10 minutes of a great fireworks show alongside the highway. I wonder if they were aware that the 4th of July isn't for another two weeks! We stayed in a brand new Marriott Towne Place Suites and were the first guests to even stay in our room.
It's too bad we weren't staying longer because this hotel was really nice. We had a suite with a full kitchen. I really liked the cabinets and the decor throughout the suite.
Of course we have the video tour!
We arranged for a late check-out at 1:00 PM on Sunday. This allowed us to take our time in the morning, workout, and pack our bags before heading to the next destination.
Before driving the few miles into Vegas, we scoped out the area. This was a really nice part of town with lots of cool buildings, restaurants, and shopping. I'm not sure what this building is, but I liked it!
We ate lunch, went shopping, picked up some groceries, Steven got a haircut, and then we hit the highway for VEGAS!
