A New Approach to Camping

We had no idea that it would get so cold here! I could see my breath the first night that we were in the park. It was freezing in our itty bitty tent with only our thin sleeping bags to keep us warm. The temperatures was around 40 degrees! The second night in the Grand Canyon we decided to try a new approach to camping. We moved everything to the front of the vehicle, put the backseats down, and created a bed in the back of the Jeep! We were so thankful that we ended up getting upgraded to this larger vehicle. This would not have worked out so well in the PT Cruiser! It ended up being much more comfortable and warmer than the tent.
It was just as cold in Bryce Canyon and we decided this would be the best way to camp there as well. This time we didn't even bother to set up the tent...no directions needed. We felt a little bit like homeless people, especially when we took our clothes and toiletries to the Visitor Center restroom in the morning! The facilities at the Grand Canyon campgrounds were fine, but no such luck in Bryce Canyon, hence the Visitor Center.
